The apex is the opening of the pulp at the end of the root. It is from this
opening that nerves and blood vessels go inside the tooth to feed the
pulp. The tissue beyond the apex is called periodical tissue.
An infection in the pulp can spread through the apex and cause an
inflammation or even an abscess.
So… a tooth is alive! Amazing right? They contain nerves and blood
vessels. They contain the same warning system as the rest of your body.
